Which file tool should I use?
The ROM checker reads a GBA header and full-file checksums. With your BPS or UPS patch, it compares the required input and output and checks whether a shorter input agrees after padding. A header alone does not prove a clean base.
The ROM patcher applies BPS or UPS to your own GBA input. It stops on a mismatch or an already patched file, asks before padding a matching copy and checks the output before offering it. Neither tool identifies a game version from a base checksum table.
These tools run in your browser without sending your files. Their practice examples contain only generated headers and a patch, with no Nintendo logo or game data. We never host ROMs.
